Captain's Vision

Dear future and present Rice Ruggers,

This year promises to be the most exciting time yet to be a member of the Rice
Rugby team. So far, we have the best website and organization of any club on
campus. As a result of our efforts over the summer, the team will receive new
blue jerseys, warm-ups, and a shade tent during games. We have a busy schedule,
and will be playing in many old rivalries, such as UH and Texas State.

The team looks set to build on last year's successes of beating UT away and
finishing strong at the Cherry Blossom Tourney in DC. With higher expectations
and motivations, this year the team will reach far beyond any of its previous
success. Additionally, the Rice Rugby Club plans its first ever international
tour. Over spring break the team will travel to Ireland and compete against
several universities, including the prestigious Trinity College Dublin.

I look forward to leading all of you into the battle that is rugby. There are no
doubts in my mind that we can and will be the strongest team Rice has produced.
I invite all of you to come be a part of the team, and bring a new face to an
old tradition.
