We wanted to remind everyone of the Rice Rugby events coming up this Homecoming 08 Weekend. A few extra details about the 40th Anniversary Gala:

1) Willy's Pub is located in the basement of the Rice Memorial Center

2) Dinner (Goode Company BBQ) will be served from 7:30-8:30

3) Dress - As this is our 40th year, we have decided to dress things up a bit. Pull a pair of slacks and a button down shirt out of the closet (jacket and tie optional). Dress code violation chugs to be strictly enforced. We are told that for the ladies in attendance this means means "dressy casual" or "cocktail attire" or something to that effect.

4) Remember to bring a check with you. See additional details about the weekend below.

RICE RUGBY ALUMNI ASSOCIATION MEETING

The annual Rice Rugby Alumni Association meeting will take place immediately preceding the gala, between 6:00pm and 7:00pm at Willy's Pub, where we will discuss state of the team, and the direction of our efforts to support the club going forward. All RRFC alumni are invited to attend.

RICE RUGBY ALUMNI MATCH & TAILGATE

The annual Rice Rugby Alumni match will take place at the rugby pitch (off of Rice Blvd.) on Saturday, November 8th, at 11:00am. A BBQ/tailgate for all RRFC players/alumni and friends will be held in the parking lot adjacent to the pitch immediately after the match.

Remember what Rice Rugby did for you, and know that you can help make an even bigger impact on the Rice Rugby players of the future.

In celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Rice Rugby Club, a small group of dedicated Rice Rugby Alumni (circa 1995) have volunteered to match any donations made to the Rice Rugby Club through December 1 2008, up to $20,000, thus setting the goal of raising $40,000 for the Rice Rugby Club in its 40th year.

In order to be eligible to be matched, donations must be received by the University by December 1, 2008.
